We spend our lives decorating the body as if it were a house we could keep forever. We dress it in beautiful clothes, feed it with desire, cover it in scars and stories, and teach it to answer when someone calls our name. We fall in love with its shape, fear its decay, and mourn every little piece of it that time takes away. But the earth has never promised to return anything unchanged. One day, our skin will loosen its grip on our bones. The eyes that once searched for beauty will close, and the hands that held lovers, enemies, and meaningless possessions will become still. The worms will arrive without knocking. They have no interest in our achievements, our regrets, or the lies we told ourselves to survive. They will simply do what life has always done: transform what is finished into something else.
